Robert J Fontaine

Hello and welcome to my faculty website. Most students know of my interest in computers and technology, but my time outside of the classroom is spent broadening my mind, body and spirit! I would like to use this space to share some of my recent experiences and accomplishments with you.

This year I spent several months and many miles training for my second 26.2 mile marathon. I enjoyed the challenge as it demonstrated many of the same things I tell my students to do to succeed – make a plan, focus on your goals, and follow through. It was a life-changing experience. Here I am crossing the Golden Gate Bridge at the 2013 SAN FRANCISCO MARATHON!

Last year I traveled to the magnificent volcanic island of SANTORINI. What a great way to see the world from a different perspective! I tasted authentic Greek food, used public transportation and discussed Greece's economy with a taxi driver! Voyages like this help me understand and appreciate different cultures and places. Here I am hiking the ancient trail along the edge of the caldera from Fira to Oia, stopping along the way to explore, experience, and embrace the most beautiful place I have ever been!
