Indiana Tech keeps growing at an astounding rate.
As we continue to add new academic programs that have high student demand, it has become clear that our current classroom space is approaching capacity. Our Board of Trustees has overseen the university’s expansion and growth and has decided that Indiana Tech will need to add a new academic center to our central campus in Fort Wayne in a couple of years.
Possible features
These plans are developing. Here are a few things that we think the new academic center will include:
Classroom and office space for the College of General Studies
Our main library
- McMillen Library will be expanded and re-designed to meet the needs of today’s students.
A multi-flex auditorium and theater
- This highly flexible and adaptable space will accommodate all manner of performances, lectures, plays, educational offerings, and other usages. The space is versatile, easy to change, and cost efficient.
While we are still early in the design phase, we anticipate that the building may look similar to the designs drafts provided below. However, these are just preliminary drafts and are subject to change during the planning process.
We will be doing the initial planning for this building starting in the summer of 2011 and will be discussing it with our supporters. It will be a beautiful, functional, and much needed addition to campus.
