Giving to Indiana Tech

Indiana Tech President Dr. Arthur Snyder

Indiana Tech holds a special place in many hearts, and I am extremely grateful for the continued support of our alumni and friends. A few of my greatest joys as president of the university are meeting with alumni, hearing stories of their days at Tech, seeing how much they have achieved in life, and witnessing their generosity in time, talent and treasure.

The students of today and tomorrow will make their own memories of Indiana Tech, but you have the opportunity to shape those memories. Your support is vital to our ability to provide the career-oriented, relationship-based education that provides the foundation for the lifelong success of these students.

Generosity comes in all shapes and sizes, so consider how you can help these students. Perhaps you can establish a scholarship, include us in your estate plans, support our new academic center, or simply give to the annual fund. Every gift, no matter the size, can make a difference for our students.

On behalf of our students, I thank you for helping them develop their full potential.

Know the Facts Before Giving

If you have questions about the giving process you’ve come to the right place for answers. Below are just a few of our more frequently asked questions. If you have a specific question, check out our FAQs page or feel free to contact us.

What exactly is the Momentum campaign?

Momentum is Indiana Tech's comprehensive fundraising campaign which started with a goal of $19 million and is now working toward a goal of $25 million. The campaign is scheduled to end on June 30, 2012.

As of November 2011, the Momentum campaign has raised $26.1 million.

Indiana Tech has made great strides in expanding programs and services, and we are on the path to becoming a comprehensive university built on academic excellence. This journey is not an easy one, however. It takes hard work and financial resources to achieve our goal. The university has the talent and the spirit to provide the hard work. But we need your help to supply the financial resources.

Please join us on our journey. You can accelerate excellence at Indiana Tech by helping to build our Momentum. Make your gift online or call our office at 260.399.2816.

How does the matching gift program work?

Many companies will match the philanthropic gifts of current or retired employees as part of their employee benefit packages. Some companies may even match donations made by spouses. The match is usually made on an annual basis, or up to a certain level.

If you plan to make a gift to Indiana Tech, please check to see if your gift may be doubled through a matching gift program.

What happens to all those gifts?

All gifts provide our students with resources needed for their education. You have the option of designating your gift, if you wish. For example, you can choose to direct your support to a scholarship fund. Gifts that are not restricted will be channeled where the support is currently needed. That could mean laboratory equipment, updated software, library resources, faculty development, curriculum enhancements, and buildings to name a few. The list continues for a vital university growing the way Indiana Tech is! Naming opportunities are available for substantial contributions, as well.

What is planned giving?

Planned giving, sometimes referred to as gift planning, may be defined as a method of supporting non-profits and charities that enables philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger gifts than they could make from their income. While some planned gifts provide a life-long income to the donor, others use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for charity and other heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor's estate.
