Holiday wishes from the IA office
During the annual office decorating contest on the campus of Indiana Tech, the Office of Institutional Advancement won first prize!
Competing against seven other departments/offices, the IA office was able to reclaim the coveted Holiday Decorating trophy from last year’s winners in the Career Center.
(L to R: Mike Peterson, Rick Wolff, Deb Agler, Mark Richter, Sarah Donaldson)
There was much festive competition, and congratulations should be offered to second place winners – Student Life– and third place winners – College of Professional Studies offices.
The IA office was able to win over the judges by recreating department store-style window scenes. Each of the team members in the above picture became a “mechanical” figure in the window. Santa Claus was in the first window eating a cookie; the man from “Twas the Night Before Chirstmas” was hanging his stockings with care; Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was playing Monopoly (a popular “reindeer game”); and, finally, a man was struggling to place lights on his family Christmas tree.
In addition to the window scenes, there were goodies at each “station” including sugar cookies, sugar plums, fudge, peppermint bark, wassail, and eggnog. To provide some diversity, the song “Feliz Navidad” was playing at the beginning of the tour, a sampling of Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah song was shared, and copies of “Twas the Night before Hanukkah” as well as “Twas the Night before Christmas (for intellectuals)” were handed out to the judges.
