Names such as Kalbfleisch, Pierson, Keene, Pontius, Dermer, Ruhl, Planck, Dow, Andorfer, Kline, Messick, Hamman, Friedman, Trask, Walls, and Allwein have played a significant role in influencing the students in positive ways toward bright careers. And under the leadership of current university president, Dr. Arthur Snyder, the future burns ever brighter for this institution of higher learning.

With many recent additions and renovations to the campus and plans for further growth in the near future, it is the desire of the Office of Institutional Advancement in collaboration with the Office of the President to personally share the current story of Tech throughout the country in regional events. The first of such events around the nation was held at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 19, 2012. This was a wonderful, intimate setting to provide opportunity for our alumni to get first-hand accounting of the current path and future of Indiana Tech.

We had a wonderful cross section of alumni and guests in attendance. The most senior alumnus was from the class of 1948 and the youngest graduated in 2008. Each recalled their specific times as students as well as gave testimony to the positive and lasting effect that the experience had on their professional lives. It was heart-warming to note the ease with which generational impressions and barriers crumbled under the common excitement for Indiana Tech’s future.

Dr. Snyder deftly showcased his warmth and ability to engage in intimate settings as well as large presentations. This was historically consistent with our alumni’s recollections of personal contact, attention, and approachability in their experience at Indiana Tech.

Our goals for these regional gatherings are:

  1. To provide an opportunity for engagement and networking and an atmosphere of fellowship to illustrate what past and present opportunities have been developed and nurtured by the graduates of Indiana Tech.
  2. To provide an information bridge from the alumni’s specific experience at Indiana Tech to the institution that exists today; as well as illustrate today’s vibrant culture and how we’re leveraging our assets for tremendous opportunities in education tomorrow.
  3. Provide a multi-faceted view of Indiana Tech that instills pride, and nurtures a critical sense of belonging to what has become a formidable small, private, non-profit educational system.
  4. To establish a personal connection with, and confidence in the leadership of the institution.

As we plan these future events, you will receive a special invitation by mail. If you haven’t updated your contact information (especially e-mail), please do so at your first available opportunity. You can email your information to Mike Peterson, Director of Alumni Relations, at You can also update your information online. We look forward to the opportunity of experiencing one of these events with you and watching your alumni pride continue to grow.
