The Tech Aluminati makes its debut
Welcome to the first issue of the Tech Aluminati! The idea behind this new, monthly alumni e-newsletter is to enlighten our wonderful alums, future alums, parents, and the many other friends of Indiana Tech with exciting campus news, successful alumni stories, and information about special events.
Our goal is to deliver informative news each month that will create continued excitement toward all of the fantastic ways in which this university positively impacts a great variety of people.
Some may be wondering, “How did they come up with the name Tech Aluminati?” Great question! While brainstorming various names for the new e-newsletter, I was playing around with words that might allow the incorporation of the word “alum” or “alumni”. Frankly, there aren’t too many words that fit this criterion, and The Aluminum just didn’t seem to quite work! I began playing around with the word “illuminate”, which can mean, “to enlighten, as with knowledge.” This seemed to be a good fit with who we are as a Warrior community. At Tech, we help enlighten people through education and involvement in extra-curricular activities to become better equipped for a prosperous career. Graduates of this great institution become a part of a special society of enlightened Warriors ready to serve their communities and use their hard-gained knowledge for great achievements in their chosen fields. You are the Tech Aluminati!
Please continue to share with us updates on your lives and careers. We are always looking for different and exciting stories to share. And as with any new project, scratches and dents may be uncovered as the dust begins to settle, so please inform us of any areas of improvement that may need our attention. Let the enlightenment continue, and long live the Warriors!
