This year marks the 23rd annual TWIST (Trask/Walls Invitational Student Tournament) Golf Outing. It is such a fun tournament that has become a real tradition here at Indiana Tech. Founded through a conversation between former professor Walter Trask and current professor Dr. Jeff Walls, this golf outing has grown into one of our premier events during Homecoming Weekend.

The original idea was to help teach students about the game of golf along with the networking that often takes place on the course. Each year, many faculty, staff, alumni, students, and friends of the university gather to compete in this Florida-scramble style tournament. The competition is good-natured and relaxed, providing for a jovial atmosphere where everyone has a great time. Included in this outing are a sack lunch and a sit-down dinner with awards and raffle prizes in addition to 18-holes of golf and a cart. This year, every golfer will receive a very nice hat and a $25 gift card to Eddie Merlots! Every par three hole will have an opportunity to win a special hole-in-one prize.

TWIST takes place on Sunday, September 16 beginning with a NOON shotgun start at the beautiful Chestnut Hills Golf Club. Players are encouraged to come early and hit some balls on the range. Be sure to register early as this event is sure to sell out again! Online registration is available at TWIST Online. You may also call Mike Peterson at 260-399-2847 or send him an e-mail at
