Engineers do everything from designing roller coasters to inventing life-saving gadgets to working behind the scenes on space missions. They love to solve problems and figure out how things work. WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Pre-Engineering Academy will stretch your imagination and put your mind to the test. You'll be taught by college professors who are professionals in their fields with years of experience. You'll take what you learn in the classroom and apply it to hands-on lab experiments and engineering projects. It's challenging, a lot of work, and aton of fun. what you Will learn:

  • Engineering design concepts utilizing AutoCAD software and other tools.
  • Problem-solving using flow charts and other graphic tools.
  • Software skills including Microsoft® ExcelT, PowerPointT, etc.
  • Elementary physics
  • Chemistry basics
  • Technical writing
  • Applied mathematics
  • Project management
  • Team-building skills

EARN CREDITS
Not only will you have a ton of fun, but you also can earn college credits. At the end of the program, you'll have the opportunity to take a proficiency exam in algebra and basic engineering design to test your knowledge. Upon successful completion of the exams, you'll be awarded six college credits.

You can use these credits toward a degree at Indiana Tech or they can be transferred to another accredited institution.

LIVE ON CAMPUS
During the three-week course you'll live on the beautiful campus at Indiana Tech in the Pierson Center dorms. All meals will be provided. During your downtime, you can kick back in the campus rec center. We have a bowling alley, movie theater, big screen TVs (great for videogames), in-door and outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, and more. Plus, you'll head out for fun activities in the evenings like laser tag, putt-putt golf, and tours of manufacturing facilities.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Indiana Tech's Pre-Engineering Academy is designed for high school students who will be entering their junior or senior year of high school in the fall. Students with a strong interest in engineering and technology will gain the most from this program.

REGISTRATION & FEES
Complete this form and send it with payment to Indiana Tech. The cost for the three-week course is $1200, which includes room and board, T-shirt, and all camp activities.
Students who successfully complete the proficiency exams at the end of the course will receive six college credits at no extra charge.
