Internship program celebrates another year of great success

May 9, 2016

Every year, countless Indiana Tech students get invaluable experience and chances to shine in a real-life workplace through internship relationships we create with employers, primarily in northeast Indiana, but throughout the country. Recently, Indiana Tech hosted a breakfast reception to congratulate our interns on work well done and to thank the employers who welcome our students into their workplace “families.” Together, we are helping Indiana Tech students make sure they are firing on all cylinders when they enter the workforce.

If you are an Indiana Tech student and want to become an intern, or an employer who would like to form a working relationship with our internship program, please contact Eileen Lee, Indiana Tech internship coordinator and career advisor, at 422-5561, ext. 2304, or EMLee@IndianaTech.edu.

Also, you can find a wealth of career resources at the Indiana Tech Career Center at careercenter.indianatech.edu.

2015-16 Intern of the Year
This year’s Intern of the Year is Miranda Hill. Miranda was a computer programming intern for Technology Solutions in Waterloo, Indiana. She has interned with this company for the past four years, and her supervisor says she brings a quality to her work that is missing in other programmers in the fact that she understands the technical side of programming and can relate this to non-technical-end users. Her programming skills have improved over the four years, and she is able to communicate with customers, as well as the other staff members. She amazes with a strong work ethic, working scheduled hours as well as asking for additional work. She shows up ready to do her best, so much so that Technology Solutions has offered her a full time job upon graduation this year. Sandy Proud, her supervisor, says Miranda has been an exemplary example of Indiana Tech’s training.
