Introducing Dr. Karl W. Einolf – Indiana Tech’s Ninth President

Dr. Karl W. Einolf has been selected by the Indiana Tech Board of Trustees as the university’s next president.
The board announced on Dec. 5 that Dr. Einolf will become the ninth president in the school’s 86-year history. He will succeed Dr. Arthur E. Snyder, who is retiring June 30, 2017, and will begin his duties as president of Indiana Tech on July 1, 2017.
“I am excited to lead Indiana Tech as it embarks on a new chapter in its storied history,” Dr. Einolf said. “Indiana Tech’s team of entrepreneurial administrators, faculty and staff are committed to delivering high-quality career-focused academic programs to both traditional and adult learners. I am eager to be a part of this team and to help enrich the student experience at Indiana Tech.”
Dr. Einolf comes to Indiana Tech from Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he currently serves as dean of the Richard J. Bolte, Sr. School of Business. During his tenure at Mount St. Mary’s, Dr. Einolf also served as acting president of the university from February to June 2016.
Dr. Einolf first joined Mount St. Mary’s in 1998 as an assistant professor of business. Since that time, he has served as an associate professor (2004-2010) and professor (2010-present); director of the university’s honors program (2003-2009); director of the Florence study abroad program (2009-2010); and director of the BB&T Center for the Study of the Moral Foundations of Capitalism (2010-2012).

Our search process brought us over 70 applicants for this position, and arrived at a highly accomplished group of finalists. Dr. Einolf’s academic and business leadership experience, his character and vision impressed everyone on our search team,” said Janet Chrzan, chair of the Indiana Tech Board of Trustees. “He is the right leader for our future as we look to continue building on the great levels of success achieved by Dr. Snyder during his time as president.”
Prior to his work at Mount St. Mary’s, Dr. Einolf was an instructor and Warren-York Fellow at Lehigh University, and held management positions in marketing and finance with the Sprint Corporation. Dr. Einolf earned his B.S. in Mathematics/Economics from The Pennsylvania State University, his M.S. in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University, and his Ph.D. in Economics from Lehigh University.
