12th Annual African American Read-In
Indiana Tech is hosting our 12th Annual African American Read-In on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020! From 12:30-1:30 in the Multiflex Theatre, we will come together to hear students, staff, and faculty read from the works of their favorite African American authors, or even perform their own works. The event is meant to highlight the works of African American authors who have often been overlooked in the literary tradition. This year, the planning committee has chosen the theme, “African American Writers: Past, Present, and Future,” as we look to the past to guide us in the present, and into the future.
This is the 31st year of the national movement for African American Read-Ins, sponsored by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English and endorsed by the International Reading Association. Join millions of participants across the nation as we celebrate this rich literary tradition.
