Esports partnership with Gen.G will provide global opportunities for our students
September 24, 2026Indiana Tech has partnered with global esports organization Gen.G to create experiential learning and professional development opportunities for students interested in esports, gaming, business, marketing, education, game development and other related industries.
Based in Seoul, South Korea, Gen.G is an established leader in both competitive gaming and esports education. It fields championship-winning teams that compete at the highest levels of global esports. They provide professional development and career advancement opportunities for the next generation of leaders in esports and gaming.
Through this partnership with Gen.G, Indiana Tech students will better understand the wide range of careers that support the esports and gaming industries while gaining opportunities to learn directly from professionals working within the field. It represents another way Indiana Tech connects students with experiences that complement their academic programs and prepare them for careers after graduation.
Students may have access to opportunities such as:
- Gen.G educational programming and masterclasses
- Engagement with esports and gaming industry professionals
- Career and professional development opportunities
- International learning experiences
- Exposure to the business and operations behind global esports organizations
- Networking and mentorship
Another opportunity available through the partnership is Gen.G’s Practicum Abroad program, an immersive, three-week educational trip to Seoul, South Korea. This offers Indiana Tech an opportunity to experience the esports and gaming industry firsthand while learning from professionals, visiting industry organizations, developing professional connections and experiencing South Korea’s gaming and esports ecosystem.
“Partnering with Gen.G represents an exciting step forward for Indiana Tech esports and reinforces our commitment to providing our students with a first-class collegiate esports experience,” said Indiana Tech esports director Jake Middleton.
He added, “We’re also excited to build a strong relationship with Gen.G’s Global Academy, which will create new pathways for Korean students to come to the United States and experience Indiana Tech, whether through camps, educational opportunities or ultimately pursuing their degree with us.”
On the competitive side, having Gen.G support Indiana Tech’s teams and events through unique activations will help us continue to elevate the student experience and grow the Indiana Tech esports brand.
“Together, these opportunities directly support our mission at Indiana Tech of preparing students for career advancement and leadership in a global 21st century society,” Middleton said.
