Indiana Tech named Military Friendly® School for 2026-27
August 21, 2026Indiana Tech has been designated a Gold Level Military Friendly® School for 2026-27. The recognition comes from Viqtory, a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) that connects the military community to civilian employment, as well as educational and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Military Friendly® is the standard that measures an organization’s commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefit for the military community. Awards are determined through annual surveys distributed by Viqtory to participating schools and broken down into five categories: Designated, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Top 10.
A Gold Level designation places Indiana Tech among schools that scored within 10 percent of the 10th ranking school in their category. Indiana Tech has been recognized as a Military Friendly® School for 15 straight years, most recently earning Gold status in 2025-26.
The distinction comes as Indiana Tech recently surpassed 1,000 military-connected students enrolled at the university, a milestone that underscores the institution’s longstanding commitment to serving active-duty military personnel, veterans, military spouses and federal employees through its Military and Veteran Services team.
“Receiving this award for 15+ years shows that Indiana Tech continues our outstanding commitment to military connected students,” said Associate Vice President of Military and Veteran Services Ryan Ozbun. “The military and veteran team at Indiana Tech works diligently to ensure our students have the best resources and assistance to help them achieve their educational goals. We continue to search for new opportunities to make Indiana Tech the best option for those who are serving or have served our country.”
Indiana Tech was also designated as a Military Spouse Friendly School.
Scoring and placement was determined by Viqtory, with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with an assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
