Registration for the spring cohort of Indiana Tech’s Leveraging Engagement and Action in Diversity (L.E.A.D.) Executive Certificate program is underway. The first two sessions of the six-session cohort are Thursday, Feb. 16, and Friday, Feb. 17.

The L.E.A.D. program is a collaboration between Indiana Tech’s Ph.D. in Global Leadership program, part of its College of Business, and its Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The certificate equips professionals with the critical skills required to lead and transform an organization’s culture, helping managers and executives become more effective in understanding, leading and implementing inclusive organizational practices.

The program consists of a series of immersive courses created by diversity practitioners and educational leaders. Courses within the program are centered on three main focus areas: Dimensions of Diversity, Creating an Inclusive Environment and Developing a Culture of Equity.

In 2022, the L.E.A.D. program, and Lisa Givan, the university’s vice president for institutional diversity, equity and belonging, earned national recognition from HRO Today, an HR industry association and media company, during its fall Inclusion Summit.

HRO Today honored L.E.A.D. as a Program of Distinction as part of its 2022 Inclusion Awards recognition. In addition, Givan was named a Leader of Distinction during the association’s 2022 DEI Executive of the Year awards.

Givan founded Indiana Tech’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion in 2018, and serves as its first vice president for institutional diversity, equity and belonging. She has been instrumental in the development and launch of the L.E.A.D. Executive Certificate program, working with Drs. Kevin Bottomley and Angie Fincannon of Indiana Tech’s College of Business to deliver this impactful leadership program to managers from a range of regional corporate partners.
