Indiana Tech’s human resource degree program has an outstanding reputation for cultivating exceptional HR professionals and launching successful careers.
Indiana Tech’s HR curriculum is endorsed by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world’s largest HR professional society representing 340,000 members in 180 countries. Being endorsed means that Indiana Tech’s program has been reviewed by SHRM and its curriculum guidelines are aligned with the standards set by the organization.
The program has has helped more than 500 Indiana Tech students pass the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam—a competency-based certification exam that measures one’s ability to apply HR principles to real-life situations.
Finally, Indiana Tech’s student SHRM chapter, which is the largest student organization on campus, has earned SHRM’s Superior Merit Award every year since 1998.
The annual Superior Merit Award program recognizes chapters for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student chapter members. It began in 1972 to encourage student chapters to require ongoing excellence in the following areas:

- Chapter operations
- Chapter programming and professional development of members
- Support of the human resource profession
- SHRM engagement
