STEAM Academy

The STEAM Academy at Indiana Tech provides students with innovative youth programming and hands-on learning opportunities that will enhance their academic and creative strengths in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM).

Our summer camps and after-school programs are delivered in a learning-for-understanding environment that cultivates our students’ curiosity in STEAM and prepares them for college, career and life. The goal is to encourage more students, especially students of color, first-generation students and students with limited resources, to pursue STEAM degrees and careers.

Attention: In the case of Winter Weather

Indiana Tech’s Steam Academy, as a rule, when it comes to winter weather, will follow the lead of the local public school, Fort Wayne Community Schools. This means that if FWCS cancels in-person classes and/or declares an E-learning day for its students due to winter weather conditions, STEAM Academy’s afterschool programs will be canceled as well. If FWCS has a 2-hour delay or early release due to weather, the potential for program cancellation will be evaluated by university authorities, and a cancelation notice will be posted on social media. A notice of cancelation will also be sent out at least one hour before the program is scheduled to begin. A program rescheduling may be a possibility if university schedules allow.
