Greetings and Welcome to Indiana Tech!
As the 2008-09 academic year closes in on mid-term and we adapt from warm, hazy
mornings to the chilly, crisp and clear wake-up call of autumn, our thoughts
naturally turn to the celebration of Thanksgiving.
As we journey forward to welcome yet another New Year, we at Indiana Tech have
many blessings for which to be thankful. In July our bounty increased
significantly with the award of a Title III grant from the U.S. Department of
Education, empowering us to extend an even deeper commitment to students.
Through this grant, $2 million over the course of the next five years will be
invested in the development of a specialized program for first-year students.
This blueprint for success will be sustained with federally funded Student
Support Services programs pledging many opportunities to raise the expectations
of not only students but professors too, thereby insuring high standards of
academic excellence.
Also fueled by the concept of academic excellence, our Momentum campaign -
launched at Homecoming in September - has been designed to incorporate three
essential, yet enriching, strategies: 1) investment in high quality academic
programs, 2) investment in contemporary learning environments and resources,
the principal building blocks that support continued program enhancements, and
3) investment in people - the students that we serve. In our quest for
continuous improvement and accelerating excellence, Indiana Tech strives to
offer both need-based scholarships and monetary awards for scholars with a
strong aptitude for leadership. Thanks to the overwhelming philanthropic spirit
of several of our most generous donors, the Momentum is building.
A new spirit of significance and success is evident on our campus.come join us
and experience the feeling.
Sincerely,
Dr. Arthur E. Snyder,
